Michel Temer sworn in as new Brazil president

Michel Temer was sworn in as the new president of Brazil after Dilma Rousseff was stripped of the presidency by the Senate in an impeachment motion.At a special session of Congress on Wednesday, after the playing of the national anthem, Temer was sworn in.Temer will serve as president until December 31, 2018.


Rousseff became the first Brazilian leader dismissed from office since 1992, when Fernando Collor de Mello resigned before a final vote in his impeachment trial for corruption.
