41st G-7 nations agree to space out fossil fuels by 2100
The 41st G7 summit was held in Schloss Elmau, Krün, Bavaria, Germany on June 7–8, 2015. The theme for the summit was Think Ahead. Act Together.
Key Issues of 41st Summit:-
The G7 Summit 2015 in Schloss Elmau will focus on the global economy as well as on key issues regarding foreign, security and development policy. Additionally the UN conferences to be held in 2015 as well as the post-2015 agenda will be discussed.
Other key issues they will be addressing include
Protection of the marine environment, marine governance and resource efficiency,
Antibiotic resistance, neglected and poverty-related diseases, and Ebola,
Retail and supply chain standards, and
Empowering self-employed women and women in vocational training.
G7 nations leaders also committed to international greenhouse gas emissions reduction target of 40 to 70% by 2050.These greenhouse gases absorb and emits radiations within their thermal infrared ranges.They are responsible for the greenhouse effect.
Fossil fuels are formed by the anaerobic decomposition of buried dead organisms. They may be as old as 650 million years also.
Fossil fuels has carbon content in them and some examples are coal,petroleum, natural gas etc. Kerosene and propane are two types of fossil fuels that are used. Fossil formation theory was first introduced by George Agricola in 1556. Burning of fossil fuels leads to emission of carbon dioxide gases which causes global warming, thereby leading to raise in earth’s surface temperature.
