Sea of Azov and Kerch strait:Ukraine-Russia sea clash

It is part of tension between Ukraine and Russia on the basis of International maritime laws. Ukraine claims that Moscow is holding freedom of navigation in the Azov Sea.While Russia says it had temporarily closed the area for shipping and that the Ukrainian vessels entered its territory illegally carrying out "provocative actions".


About Kerch strait:-

Kerch Strait connects the Azov Sea with the Black Sea, and is formed by the coasts of the Russian Taman Peninsula and disputed Crimea. It is the sole access point for ships travelling to and from Ukraine's eastern port cities. Russia has controlled the strait since it annexed Crimea in 2014

About Sea of Azov:-
Sea of Azov, is a inland sea situated off the southern shores of Ukraine and Russia. It forms a northern extension of the Black Sea, to which it is linked on the south by the Kerch Strait. The major rivers that flow into it are Don and Kuban.
