Seoul Peace Prize for 2018:Awarded to PM Modi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with the Seoul Peace Prize for 2018 for his contribution to international cooperation and fostering global economic growth.The committee also cited "modinomics" for reducing social and economic disparity between the rich and the poor and his contribution for clean energy along with climate change for giving this honor.

He is first Indian to receive this prestigious award and in all 14th person.Previously former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and Grameen Bank founder Dr Muhammad Yunus also awarded with the same award.

About Seoul Peace Prize:-
The Seoul Peace Prize was started in 1990 as a biennial award to commemorate the success of the 24th Summer Olympic Games held in Seoul, S.Korea. It was established to reflect the wishes of the Korean people and to emphasise on their desire for everlasting peace on earth.
