NIRF India Ranking 2018: Top 10 Institutes In 9 Categories

Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD)'s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is released today by the minister Prakash Javadekar. The NIRF India Ranking 2018 was released in 9 categories which included Overall, Universities, Engineering, Colleges, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Architecture, and Law. In overall category IISc Bangalore ranked first while IITs made their presence in major categories like Overall, Universities and Engineering.

In Law, Medical and Architecture, HRD awarded only three institutes this year, while in other categories top 10 institutes were honoured.

Overall Top Institute - IISc Bangalore

Top University of India: IISc Bangalore

Top College of India: Miranda House, Delhi

Top Engineering College: IIT Madras

Top Management College: IIM Ahmedabad

Top Medical College of India: All India Institutes of Medical Sciences, Delhi

Top Architecture College of India: IIT Kharagpur

Top Pharmacy College of India: National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Mohali (Punjab)

Top Law College of India: National Law School of India University, Bengaluru


About NIRF:-


The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and launched by Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September 2015.

This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception”.
