The first solar eclipse of the year will occur today. This solar eclipse will be the longest lasting eclipse in 50 years which will last for about 5 hours and 25 minutes. This will be a total solar eclipse due to which when the eclipse will be at its peak, there will be darkness on the earth for some time.
According to Indian time, this eclipse will start at 09:12 pm on April 08 and will continue till 2:22 am on April 9. But this eclipse will not be visible in India

The first solar eclipse of the year and the longest of the 21st century is being considered very special. During this period there will be darkness in space for more than 7 minutes. During that time many planets and comets of our solar system will be visible with the naked eye.
This eclipse can be seen in countries like America, Canada and Mexico, but this solar eclipse cannot be seen in India. A complete solar eclipse will be visible in three countries while a partial solar eclipse will be visible in the remaining countries.
